NEW SHORTENED VERSION 1.0

## Man Flu v7, 2024-05-12, by The Cassowary Kicks

# Verse: (vary E7 E7 with E7 – E – E7 in first line)
D Bm7 | A A | G A E7 E7
D Bm | E E | C C D D

In the jungle of Papua New Guinea there was
A woman searching pigeons that where thought to be extinct
With a local guide she wandered there for days
But just saw tree kangaroos and cassowary’s with their hats

At one night she slept in a hammock in the trees
she jumped out and she screamed, and her guide quickly came to help
Sure appendicitis is rarely nicely timed,
But to remove it yourself lit by the campfire is mad

# intermezzo:
Em Bm | F#m G
Em Bm | F#m G | G ~ (5th measure, anacrusis towards chorus)

# Chorus:
D | A | G | E
G | E | G | A

Ohh it was bad - soo bad! This pain should not be in the game.
But she did make it through, grateful that she didn’t have the man flu.
Nothing, nothing, nothing
Nothing, is awful like the man flu.

# Verse: (vary E7 E7 with E7 – E – E7 in first line)
D Bm7 | A A | G A E7 E7
D Bm | E E | C C D D

It took them six long years to get pregnant as they wished
With some medical help their dream would finally come true
How much they loved their tiny household to expand
But would five babies at once also be fivefold times the fun?

Giving birth felt like a marathon through hell
They got five healthy screaming babies like a jazz chord plus one off
She lacked some nipples evolution couldn't foresee
just like she'll never know about the man flu flavoured hell

# intermezzo:
Em Bm | F#m G (repeat until Joris finishes his solo?)
